For mamas in the last months of pregnancy and first weeks postpartum, as well as their support people
Develop an understanding of how breastfeeding is guided by natural physiology, innate reflexes, intuition, and learned behavior. Feel inspired and empowered to begin your infant feeding relationship. There will be time to ask questions, discuss expectations or concerns, and practice different breastfeeding positions. Some topics we will explore include:
Benefits of breastfeeding for mother, baby, community, and environment.
How the physiology of birth influences the initiation of breastfeeding.
Ways to support an optimal learning environment for mama and babe through the lense of the primal continuum .
Newborn feeding needs and how to know your baby is getting enough.
Preventing common problems, and knowing when to reach out for more support.
Simple breast self-care practices you can incorporate now to support breast health.
