Matt has been a student of yoga since 2000 and is an internationally recognized teacher with 500+ hours of training. He teaches Mysore-style Ashtanga, Ashtanga-inspired, and Alignment-based classes. He is regular faculty in yoga teacher trainings both nationally and abroad.
His training has involved academic studies in yoga philosophy (Hindu and Buddhist), classical postural practice, and a heaping dose anatomy and physiotherapy. Matt's classes are sequenced in purposeful, and inspiring ways - certified fresh. He often uses props to ensure the practice meets a student where they are at (physically and mentally) and to ensure their sustainable growth into the best practitioners possible. His root teachers are Richard Freeman, Mary Taylor and Maty Ezraty.
Matt is also a lifelong student of environmental science, ornithology, and religion, and he has a master’s degree in Anthropology from Stanford University.
