Join Michelle Bouvier at Cloudbreak for an immersive two-part training that will change how you understand and experience movement!
These workshops dive into the latest research on fascia and biotensegrity, offering practical tools to move with greater ease, resilience, and adaptability.
Each session blends engaging discussion with embodied practice, helping you integrate science-based movement strategies into your personal practice or teaching.
WEEK ONE: May 10 12-4pm | Fascia: A New Paradigm of Connection
Fascia, our body's connective tissue system, is the conductor of force and fluidity that gives us our sense of freedom or restriction in movement. Only recently have we begun to understand its critical role in human anatomy, revolutionizing our approach to movement and self-care.
In this foundational training, you'll discover:
The four main properties and types of fascia
How fascia integrates with our nervous system and other vital body systems
Science-based approaches to stretching, mobility, and tissue resilience
The difference between flexibility and mobility, and why it matters
Manual release techniques using self massage tools and techniques
The fascinating connection between our physical tissues and emotional patterns
Through lecture, discussion, and embodied exploration, you'll learn practical tools for:
Supporting greater overall mobility
Creating sustainable movement practices
Recovering from overuse or injury
Accessing the rest & digest nervous system
Developing tissue resilience
WEEK TWO: May 17 12-4pm | Biotensegrity: Transforming How We Move
Building on our understanding of fascia, biotensegrity revolutionizes how we view human movement and structure. Rather than seeing the body as a stack of blocks, discover how we function as an interconnected web of tension and compression.
In this advanced training, you'll explore:
How biotensegrity challenges traditional biomechanical models
The relationship between tension, compression, and efficient movement
Why "proper alignment" isn't one-size-fits-all nor conforms to simplified linear ideas
How force transmits through the whole-body system
Natural movement patterns that enhance performance and prevent injury
The role of breath in organizing whole-body tension patterns
Practical applications for movement teaching and practice
Through interactive learning and movement exploration, you'll discover:
How to assess and enhance movement efficiency
Ways to create more adaptable stability
Strategies for individual movement optimization
Approaches to training that respect natural body mechanics
Tools for more effective movement cueing and teaching
Both workshops blend current scientific understanding with practical application, helping you move better, teach better, and understand the remarkable intelligence of your body, and you can chose to join one or both sessions!
This training is perfect for:
Anyone seeking to move with greater ease, efficiency and enjoyment
Practitioners wanting to deepen their understanding of human movement
Teachers wanting to create more individualized practices for their clients
Movement teachers ready to evolve their teaching approach with the latest in movement research
Previous completion of Embodied Anatomy: Fascia is recommended, but not required
