Join us for a monthly perinatal education series on the 4th Friday of each month directly after the Postnatal Mom & Baby Yoga Class. 

The transformative time of early motherhood can sometimes feel a bit overwhelming and leave us with more questions than answers. There is so much to navigate during the perinatal year and sometimes we do not know where to turn to for resources to help us navigate all these new experiences.

Join us at Metta Mama starting in January for a free perinatal education series where we will cover topics ranging from hormonal health, to sleep, to pelvic floor health, to parenting. Learn how to navigate your new normal from experienced practitioners that will help guide you to feel more confident in your body, in your mind, in your relationship, and in your new job caring for your precious little one.

Cost to attend each session is free, but please reserve your spot on our class schedule.

January 24, 2025 12 pm - 1 pm

Sleep in the First Year with Katie Sullivan a parenting and sleep consultant.

Join Katie, Parenting Doula, for an interactive Q&A session where you can ask all your baby sleep and parenting questions! This is a great chance to discuss anything specific to your family's needs and get to know Katie before the upcoming 0-6 month sleep workshop. 

Katie Sullivan, M.Ed, CPPD, is a parenting and sleep consultant, an early childhood professional, a certified postpartum doula, a Montessori educator, and a mother of two. She has studied and worked with young children and families for nearly 20 years, with a special love and appreciation for the infant and toddler stages. Her area of expertise is providing families with individualized practical recommendations and sleep/parenting plans. She is passionate about setting up good sleep habits from birth, serving as a resource for new parents, and troubleshooting tricky situations from zero to three.

Reclaiming Your Hormonal Balance in the First Year with functional nutritionist Nimisha Gandhi

Discover the essential keys to postpartum wellness in this empowering talk designed for women navigating the challenges of this transformative time. Learn practical nutrition and self-care strategies to restore balance, support your hormones, and feel more like yourself again. We’ll close with a grounding meditation to leave you feeling centered, nurtured, and deeply connected to your body’s incredible wisdom.

Nimisha Gandhi is a functional medicine nutritionist, Ayurvedic counselor, Yoga Nidra/meditation teacher, Yoni Shakti practitioner and conscious parenting coach dedicated to supporting women in their journey of awakening, reclaiming, and transitioning. In Nimisha’s private practice, Moon Cycle Nutrition, she specializes in hormonal and gut health with an emphasis on the mind, body, and soul. Nimisha's approach integrates functional medicine, Ayurvedic principles, food as medicine, meditation, and mindful rituals.

Understanding And Supporting Your Babies Early Motor Development with Christine Egan ,PT

Since the "Back to Sleep" program began, the reduction in SIDS has been significant, but conditions like torticollis and plagiocephaly have increased. In this talk, Christine will share her knowledge of normal motor development and simple strategies like supervised tummy time and varied positioning, to help parents to prevent or correct these issues while supporting healthy movement skills.

Christine Egan, MPH, PT C/NDT is a pediatric physical therapist with over 40 years of experience in the field of pediatric rehabilitation. The cornerstone of her training is Neurodevelopmental Training (NDT). This framework is based on a clear understanding of typical human movement development and how to facilitate the necessary components of movement when they may be delayed or lacking.

Shannon Myers, LMFT, PMH-C is a psychotherapist specializing in supporting women and families during pregnancy, postpartum, and early parenting. Shannon is a co-founder of Marin Perinatal Therapy, a collective building community and support for pregnant and new parents. As a mother herself, Shannon understands the challenges and joys of this pivotal time.
